Geographical Advantage.
Highway
There are four expressways, namely, Beijing-Fuzhou Expressway, Hefei-Huainan-Fuyang Expressway, Huainan-Bengbu Expressway, and Jinan-Qimen Expressway, and one national highway, that is, 206 National Highway. Departing from the downtown of the city, we can arrive in Hefei within 1 hour, arrive in Nanjing within 3 hours, and arrive in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanchang, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, and Jinan within 6 hours.
Railway
There are two high-speed railways of the Beijing-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway and the Shangqiu-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway running through Huainan. One electrified railway connects the Beijing-Shanghai Railway to the east and the Beijing-Kowloon Railway to the west. By railway, it takes us 18 minutes to arrive in Hefei, 2 hours to arrive in Wuhan, and 3 hours to arrive in Shanghai, Beijing, and Hangzhou.
Airport
Xinqiao International Airport is located within Huainan and we can arrive at the airport within 1 hour from the downtown. At present, domestic flights can directly fly to major cities across the country and 13 direct international routes to the United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore have been opened.
Waterway
The Huaihe River, which is about 500 kilometers long, runs through Huainan, and thousand-ton cargo ships can sail in the river all year round. The under- construction 3000-ton Huainan Port will become the largest port in the Huaihe River basin. With the implementation of the Water Diversion Project from Yangtze River to Huaihe River, the advantages of water resources in Huainan will be further highlighted.
advantage in resources. The prospective coal reserves are 50 billion tons, the proven reserves are 14.7 billion tons, and the coalbed methane reserves are 536.8 billion cubic meters. It is one of the thirteen 100-million-ton coal bases in China, with 16 pairs of modern mines and a production capacity of nearly 100 million tons. Huainan is the cradle of China's power industry. It boasts 6 major power generation enterprises and 26 generator units, with a total installed capacity of 14.19 million kilowatt hours. Two 1-million-voltage ultra-high power grids have been built, making it the largest gathering area for power enterprises in Anhui Province and one of the six major coal-fired power bases in China.

At present, there are 6 universities and colleges, 9 national research institutions and key laboratories, 41 provincial engineering and technology research centers, and enterprise technology centers and 28 secondary vocational schools. It boasts 27000 professional and technical personnel and 260000 technical workers. Anhui University of Science and Technology, as the first engineering university in Anhui Province, is the cradle of coal mine engineers. The Eighth Institute of CETC is a national first-class research institute, which has created multiple domestic firsts.

It has formed an industrial pattern characterized by the feature that coal and electricity are the pillars, three leading industries of new coal chemical industry, modern equipment manufacturing, and new generation information technology with big data as the core are being advanced rapidly and five high-growth industries of modern service industry, optoelectronic new energy, modern medicine, green organic agricultural product processing, and tourism culture are being actively cultivated.
advantage in the high-quality carrier.Huainan Economic and Technological Development Area, a national economic development area, is located in Datong District. It boasts a provincial biomedicine industrial park, demonstration bases of new coal mining equipment manufacturing industry and a pharmaceutical and chemical industry with a focus on developing three major industrial clusters, namely, biomedicine, high-end equipment manufacturing, and health and elderly care.
Huainan High-tech Development Area, located in Shannan New Area, focuses on developing high-tech industries and strategic emerging industries. It is cultivating three major industries of new generation information technology with big data as the core, optoelectronic new energy and biomedicine. It is an industrial agglomeration base for strategic emerging industry in Anhui Province.
Anhui (Huainan) New Coal Chemical Industrial Park is located in Panji District, with a planned total area of 94.98 square kilometers and PhaseⅠ planned area of 12.7 square kilometers. It is one of three major chemical bases in Anhui Province. It focuses on developing four major industrial sectors: coal-based petrochemical products (coal to olefins, coal to ethylene glycol, coal to aromatics, etc.), alternative fuel products (coal to natural gas, coal to oil, coal to ethanol, etc.), basic chemical and downstream products (fertilizers, soda ash, etc.), new chemical materials and new fine chemical products.
Shouxian Xinqiao International Industrial Park is located in the southern part of Shouxian County, adjacent to the provincial capital Hefei and Xinqiao International Airport. The short-term plan of the park is 20 square kilometers and the long-term plan is 100 square kilometers with the core area of 40 square kilometers. The park focuses on development of three major industries of electronics and electrical appliances, equipment manufacturing, and modern service, and strive to create a modern airport new city that integrates industry and city, is livable and suitable for industries.
Fengtai Economic and Technological Development Area is located on the southern bank of the Huaihe River in Fengtai County. According to the requirements of building modern new industrial city, it focuses on the development of coal mining machinery, textile and clothing, and new building materials industries to create a processing and manufacturing base with important influence and driving force.
