CCTV : Urban Renewal and Summer Tourism Inject New Vitality to Huainan

Recently, CCTV reported the innovative measures adopted by Huainan City to promote urban renewal and summer tourism on its news programs Xinwen Lianbo and Xinwen Zhibojian.

Urban Renewal: Huainan City is actively promoting the transformation from a resource-based city, with a focus on improving people's livelihoods. The city is speeding up the pace of 34 renovation projects of shanty areas and urban villages, committed to build “complete communities” by improving renovation standards. The goal is to achieve full coverage of the “15-minute living circle” and create a more livable and smart high-quality city.

Cooling Economy: To ignite summer consumption, Huainan  innovates characteristic tourism products. At the “Ice Curtain” scenic area nearby Jiaogang Lake, tourists can experience a unique artificial ice and snow cave (1.5 kilometers long), enjoy exciting activities such as ice drifting, bowling, and slides, and have fun of ice in summer. The scenic area extends its business hours until 8 pm in summer, with night revenue accounting for about 20 percent. The average daily reception on weekends and holidays reaches nearly 3000 people, making it a popular choice for families and children. After enjoying the ice and snow, tourists can also appreciate the magnificent lotus scenery of Jiaogang Lake.

Dreamy Night Forest: Mt. Bagong, a famous mountain in Huainan, has launched a night forest tour. During the day time, tourists can take a summer stroll in the lush mountains and forests. At night, the scenic area uses modern light and shadow technology to create a dreamy night tour route, and the millennium-old geological wonder is revitalized in the dazzling light. The scenic area has given out over 15,000 free experience vouchers to children, attracting many families to come and experience the romance at summer night.
