Huainan City Organizes Overseas Students to Immerse Themselves in the Charm of Chu Culture in Shouxian County

including Vietnam, Myanmar, Mongolia, and Algeria, accompanied by teachers from Huainan Normal University, came to Shouxian County, a national historical and cultural city, to immerse themselves in the charm of Chu Culture on February 10.

The event was hosted by Foreign Affairs Office of Anhui Provincial People’s Government and organized by Foreign Affairs Office of Huainan Municipal People’s Government . 

At the Chu Culture Museum, international students listened to bilingual explanations in Chinese and English, and had a close look at close precious cultural relics such as the "Sword of Zhezhi Yuci, a king of Yue State", Yingyuan Gold Coin and bronze wares. They gained a deeper understanding of the historical style and technological achievements of Chu State, and deeply appreciated the inclusiveness and openness of Chu Culture and the exchange and mutual learning of ancient civilizations.

Then, they climbed up the ancient city wall of Shouxian county and strolled through the 7147-meter-long ancient city of Song Dynasty. In the ancient city, they learned about the military defense system and flood control wisdom of the city wall and marveled at the exquisite skills and outstanding creativity of the ancient Chinese laboring people.

This event deepened foreign students' understanding and identification with Chinese culture through the on-site experience mode of “stepping out of the classroom to learn history”. Huainan will continue to carry out diverse cultural exchange activities to help international students become cultural ambassadors who understand, befriend, and love China, and write a new chapter in Sino-foreign exchanges.
