Shouzhou Ancient City May Day Event Kicks Off, Enjoy Diverse Activities This Spring
During the May Day holiday (April 29 to May 5), Shouzhou Ancient City and Bagongshan Forest Park jointly launch a series of immersive cultural and tourism activities, inviting you to a springtime journey through a thousand years.
【Shouzhou Ancient City】 Enjoy boating on the moat outside Tongfei Gate while admiring the scenery. The Qiaolou Theater stages rotating performances including "The Great Chu Marriage Invitation," "Chu Scholar Lifting the Tripod," and the General's Office Scene Show. The Confucius Temple hosts an intangible cultural heritage parade reenacting "Top Scholar Announcement." At Binyang Gate's Wengcheng, experience the Summer Arrival Welcome Ceremony and special folk festival games. Shouzhou Rose Garden offers Hanfu "flower chasing" travel photography and a cheongsam show. Chunshenfang Twenty-Four Solar Terms Pavilion presents the "AI Friends of Lord Chunshen" Chinese-style street show. Binyang Bridge features a Yuefu water show, and Binyang Gate lights up with a light and shadow show, illuminating the ancient city at night. The Visitor Center also presents the Fire Dragon and Fire Phoenix Flying Show and a large-scale drone performance, blending tradition with technology and merging ancient charm with modern trends.
【Bagongshan Forest Park】 With Chu culture as the foundation, it creates a solar term-themed immersive space: the "Twenty-Four Solar Terms · Astronomy Lessons" solar term theater, folk culture parade, "Tofu Fairy" interactive performances, tofu carrying pole market, windmill park, and twenty-four solar terms wind-watching spots. NPCs joyfully interact with "Hug the Lucky Baby," "Fairy Child Guides the Way," and "Happy Comedy Show," full of fun and suitable for all ages.
【Anhui Chu Culture Museum】 The "Chuchu Moving" quyi theater showcases the elegance of Chu culture. The "Meeting an Acquaintance · Chu King Kao Lie" archaeological experience lets you touch history firsthand. The "Jijin Zhangwen" intangible cultural heritage gold foil painting DIY brings traditional craftsmanship to life at your fingertips. Chunshen Square and Yaohai Grand Market simultaneously open folk culture markets.
