The Think Tank Forum on Huaihe River Basin Civilization Revitalization Held in Huainan

Recently, the Think Tank Forum on Huaihe River Basin Civilization Revitalization, themed “Inheriting Millennium Cultural Heritage, Writing a New Chapter of Revitalization,” was held in Huainan. Over 300 guests from the fields of government organs, industry, academia, and research gathered in Huainan City to discuss the cultural inheritance and revitalization of the Huaihe River Basin. The reason for the forum held in Huainan is because Huainan boasts profound heritage: cultural icons such as the “Huainan Insect” fossils discovered on Bagong Mountain, Anfengtang Pond, an irrigation project built more than 2,500 years ago, the ancient town of Shouzhou, Huainanzi, a Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) work on ancient Chinese history, the 24 solar terms, and the birthplace of tofu shine brightly; the industrial transformation——a new energy vehicle cluster worth one hundred billion yuan takes shape, and the ecological governance experience has been selected as a global “Best Poverty Reduction Case”.

The forum achieved fruitful results: Xinhua News Agency’s National High-end Think Tank released the think tank report Great Rivers Lead to a Prosperous Country——The Path of Ecological Civilization Development in the Huaihe River in the New Era, and the Huaihe River Basin Museum Alliance and Huaihe River Think Tank Alliance were officially established.

Meanwhile, parallel events such as the “Dialogue by Huaihe River” government-enterprise salon and roundtable meeting of listed companies were held. Industry matching activities such as “Listed Companies’ Visit to Huainan” and “Return of Huainan Businessmen” were initiated, and a “Anhui Consumption” theme exhibition was held to promote brand collaboration. From profound cultural heritage to new industrial momentum, from ecological transformation to cultural tourism going viral, Huainan is answering the question of the era—— “Inheriting Millennium Cultural Heritage, Writing a New Chapter of Revitalization” with its urban heritage blending ancient and modern elements.
