Foreign Students Boost Rural Revitalization
Through Bilingual Live Broadcasts in Villages of Huainan

Recently, relying on the “Sanxiaxiang Program”, a program bringing culture, science and technology, and hygienic health to countryside , in summer vacation, Huainan Normal University organized teachers and foreign students to go to the countryside. Leveraging their foreign language expertise, they conducted volunteer activities such as bilingual live broadcasts and public welfare cultural classes, to empower rural revitalization and promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
On July 14th, the practice group from the School of Foreign Languages visited Miaoshan Village in the Bagongshan District and conducted a live broadcast in Chinese and English, showcasing local specialties such as Ouliji Wild Tea and Twenty-four Solar Terms Health Tea. The foreign students exclaimed, “The mountains here are so beautiful, and the air is filled with the scent of tea!”
From July 16th to 17th, the team from the School of Economics and Management visited Lichong Hui Township in Fengtai County. Qingyan, an overseas student from Mongolia, and Meiyu, an overseas student from Myanmar, participated in the activity. Meiyu had initially thought the rural areas should be underdeveloped, but upon arrival, she was deeply impressed by the tidiness, and well-equipped facilities of the village. In the “Harmonious and Beautiful Countryside” live broadcast room, they promoted stone-ground sesame oil in bilingual languages. An intangible cultural heritage inheritor picked fresh cucumbers for Qingyan to dip in sesame oil. Taking a bite, she gasped, “Wow, it’s so fragrant and crispy!” She even made a video call to her mother, saying, “China is so amazing, the Chinese flavor is so delicious!”
Huainan Normal University currently has over 30 foreign students from 15 countries.During this summer vacation, they are leveraging their language expertise to bridge China and the world, spreading the flavor of Huainan to even more distant places.
