From August 14th to 16th, the China Dancers Association’s “Chinese Dance Grading Examination” National Teaching Achievement Showcase was held in Huainan. It was the first time that the event had been held in the city. This event coincided with the 20th anniversary of the Chinese Dance Grading Examination, attracting 1,321 young dancers in 73 teams from across the country, presenting 75 high-quality performances, with a total of 2,051 participants. Some of the performances incorporated elements of Huainan’s local culture, such as idioms and allusions, as well as the 24 solar terms.

As the “Home to Children’s Art in China”, Huainan boasts a profound foundation in cultivating children’s art. This performance not only provided an occasion for reviewing the teaching achievement, but also established a platform for national dance teachers to exchange ideas. The event innovated the model of cultural tourism integration, setting up intangible cultural heritage markets and offering multiple cultural study tour routes. Local intangible cultural heritage projects such as Shouzhou Kiln and Zijin Inkstone were showcased, enabling mutual empowerment between dance aesthetic education and traditional culture. This grand event not only showed the teaching achievements of children’s dance nationwide, but also enhanced Huainan’s cultural tourism brand, promoting the all-round development of young people through aesthetic education.
