China Media Group to Host Its 2026 Mid-Autumn Gala in Huainan
Under the moonlit sky nearby Huaihe River, we will meet in Huainan! 2026 Mid-Autumn Gala of China Media Group (CMG) is officially set to take place in Huainan, Anhui Province. The main stage will be built over the lake area of Huainan People’s Park. Guided by the design concept of “painting the moon of Huaihe River on a scroll of Xuan Paper”, the immersive venue makes full use of natural waterscapes to evoke the understated grace of Eastern aesthetics and create a heart-warming festive atmosphere of Mid-Autumn reunion.
Nurtured by the Huaihe River, Huainan is an ancient millennium-old city brimming with dynamic modern vitality while preserving an enduring cultural heritage. It enjoys good geographical advantage as it links east and west and has easy access to rivers and seas. It has notched many breakthroughs in developing new-quality productive forces, demonstrating robust growth momentum. At the foot of Bagong Mountain, philosophical wisdom from Huainanzi, a masterpiece in the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24), still resonates across centuries. Ripples in Anfengtang bear witness to the ancient prime minister’s water-control feats of Chu State. The lotus fragrance of Jiaogang Lake, along with the millennium-old tofu-making tradition, shows the down-to-earth charm of local life. These cultural icons deeply rooted in the Huaihe River basin will interweave with the Mid-Autumn atmosphere of family reunion, adding greater splendor to CMG’s Mid-Autumn Gala.
As a landmark cultural highlight marking the launch of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the gala aligns with contemporary themes and adopts AI technologies. With “the moon” and “emotion” as the clue, the three chapters of Patrolling the Moon, Embracing the Stars, and Shining Autumn are set up. The gala creatively integrates family and national sentiments with traditional culture, highlighting the profound legacy of Chinese civilization and the style of the times. The gala will broadcast worldwide simultaneously at 20:00, September 25 (Mid-Autumn Festival night), across CMG’s TV channels, new-media outlets and overseas platforms.
