The 2026 Huainan Marathon Held

At 8:00 a.m. on November 1, the 2026 Huainan Marathon kicked off amid rain at the Ledongli Olympic Sports Center in Huainan High-Tech Development Area. Centered on the theme “Moonlit Huaihe River, Run in Huainan”, the event, featuring full and half marathon categories, attracted a total of 12,000 runners to gather in Huainan for this autumn running gala.

This edition marked a historic milestone. The race not only obtained Class-A certification from the Chinese Athletics Association, but also achieved in-depth integration with Huainan’s city IP forged by the CMG Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, creating a grand feast of culture, sports and tourism.

The medal was modeled after the Great Tripod Cauldron of Chu State, embodying the philosophies of Huainanzi, the romance of the legend of Chang’e flying to the moon, as well as the charm of the Chu-Han culture. Symbols from the Mid-Autumn Gala were embedded throughout the race uniform, running track decorations and opening ceremony. Runners were invited to explore the shooting spots of “Mid-Autumn Gala”, which turned the 42.195-kilometre course into a time corridor for an immersive experience of Huainan’s culture.

The route connected the Olympic Sports Center, Anhui University of Science and Technology, the main stage of the Mid-Autumn Gala at People’s Park and the Yuanyang Lake area. After the race, the stage was open to the public as an urban lounge. Adhering to the concepts of smart and green race, the event adopted fully digital procedures and degradable materials. Paired with a marathon expo and promotional videos, it showcased the charm of Huainan city.

A marathon is never merely a festival for runners. It is also a warm business card that a city presents to the outside world, injecting new momentum for Huainan to showcase its image, gather vitality and advance high-quality development.
